Genuine leather is a customary name for natural leather that humans use to distinguish synthetic leather. Genuine leather refers to products made from the chemical treatment of animal skin. It is mainly processed from the skin of animals.

Raw material for leather
The raw material for tanning is animal skin. Although the most common in our lives are pig leather, cowhide leather, sheep leather, but in fact most animal skins can be used for manufacturing leather. It is just that the quality of cowhide leather, pig leather and sheep leather are good and the yield is large, which is the main raw material for tanning.
Although there are many kinds of raw material for manufacturing leather , according to a series of laws and regulations such as international animal protection regulations, the raw materials that are actually used for production are limited to a certain extent, and the commonly used leathers are: cow leather, sheep leather, pig leather and horse leather. There are also specifications in use.
The difference between cow leather and sheep leather
Cowhide
The pores of the cowhide surface are small, round, evenly distributed and tight. The surface is bright and smooth, the texture is plump and delicate, the appearance is flat and soft, and the texture is solid and elastic to the touch of the hand. When selecting, if you squeeze the leather surface hard, there are small folds.

Sheep Leather
The pores of the sheep leather surface are flat and round, the pores are clear, and several are formed in groups and arranged into fish scales. Leather products made of sheepskin processing, the leather is delicate and soft. Although the surface is shiny, but not as bright as cowhide. Squeezing the leather surface hard, there are obvious wrinkles.

The hygienic properties of leather
Breathability
Breathability refers to the amount of air that passes through the unit area of leather under a certain pressure and at a certain time. The breathability of various leathers varies greatly. The textile and looseness of the fibrous structure of the leather itself and the properties of the finishing layer and the influence of thickness on its breathability are decisive.
Water vapor permeability
Leather can make water vapor from the air on the side with a higher humidity into the air on the side of the temperature through the leather to go to the air on the side of the temperature. The moisture permeability of leather depends on its breathability, and is also affected by the ability of the leather itself to absorb moisture.
The firmness of leather
Firmness plays an important in the inner quality of leather. In order to fully reflect the firmness of leather, the firmness of leather is divided into the following categories:
tensile strength
Maximum tensile load of leather per unit cross section, which is one of the important index of surface leather firmness.
tearing strength
Maximum tearing force per unit thickness of leather.
burst strength
The force applied per unit area of leather when pulled up to crack the surface. This strength index mainly reflects the machinability of leather.
Resistance to bending strength
Bending the leather over and over again to make it appear damage phenomenon during the curved surface.
